Founded in 1908, Ramsey is an outer suburb of New York City where many locals work. Its locally-owned restaurants give the city character. The downtown area is a popular haunt and serves as an ideal place for newcomers to explore. On the weekends, the gourmands and health-conscious visit the local farmers market. Most of the homes in the area are single-family with generous outdoor spaces. Minutes from Highways 287 and 17, Ramsey is an inviting community for commuters who want that small-town feel away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

When locals aren't picking up supplies from the local farmer's market, they have a rich selection of restaurants for a fast meal or romantic supper. Shopping is also plentiful in Ramsey. 
 
For custom cakes or a morning pastry and cup of coffee, L' Arte Della Pasticceria is an Italian bakery that's too sweet to miss. Kinchley's Tavern is an award-winning pizza and pasta joint with cute checkered tablecloths and amazing thin-crust pizza.  
 
When locals want to make pasta at home, they stop at Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace for all the authentic Italian ingredients. With a display of fresh fish, Varka Restaurant offers a Greek twist to its favorite seafood dishes. The outdoor patio is ideal in the summer months. 
 

Things to Do

 
While Ramsey is a small community, and many locals enjoy their outdoor spaces, there are some wonderful ways to spend their free time. This community seems to have a slower pace of life, but it is by no means boring.

Each Sunday, the Ramsey Farmers’ Market is the most crowded spot in town. This market is filled with seasonal produce, fruits, homemade meals, and a large variety of other items. It's a great place to get the bulk of your weekly groceries, including homemade mango salsa. 

The downtown area of Ramsey brims with restaurants and shopping. It's a great place for wandering in the early evening or a weekend afternoon. Many of the locals have a membership at the Ramsey Golf & Country Club.
