Both suburbs of New York City, the small communities of River Edge and Oradell are great options for families, with an excellent school system and plenty of suburban conveniences. Most residences are single-family homes with many upgrades and amenities. The parks and events throughout the year are ideal for socializing, as are the many lovely outdoor spaces in these areas.

River Edge and Oradell offer a wealth of local restaurants and shops, and people who live in these communities always have new choices opening. In Oradell, Caffeine provides exactly what the name describes in the form of sumptuous gourmet coffees along with a selection of pastries for the road. 

Another morning favorite in River Edge is Kinderkamack Hot Bagels, with its selection of freshly made bagels and homemade schmears. Mado Mediterranean has all the ambiance needed for a romantic evening, and the menu brims with choices. 

A Taste of Greece serves kebabs and lemon chicken soup for a casual lunch or dinner to go. Aroma d'cafe Bakery offers all the mouth-watering treats you could want and custom cakes for special occasions. 
 

Things to Do

 
River Edge and Oradell have many exciting things to do, and their proximity to each other makes their events and attractions almost interchangeable. On the Fourth of July, both towns enjoy the local parade followed by an evening of fireworks. 

The River Edge Public Library and the Oradell Public Library sponsor well-attended children's programs with reading hours and other activities throughout the year. The River Edge Farmers Market and the Sunday Farmer's Market in Oradell are popular and offer locally-grown produce. When the weather's nice, families spend an afternoon in Memorial Park.

The River Dell Regional School District serves both the town of River Edge and Oradell for older children, while River Edge Elementary School District and the Oradell Public School District serve younger children. These districts have some highly-ranked schools, including:
